The Green Dragon sailing team are back as they prepare for the In Port race this weekend, the team are spending the next few days on the water as they get ready for the racing over the weekend. Read an interview with Green Dragon’s bowman Justin Slattery here
BACK TO THE WATER5th May, 2009
Today the shore team put the Dragon back into the water in Boston, the boat has undergone a re-fit ahead of the In Port race this coming Saturday 9th. The mast has also undergone a full service by Southern Spars. The team will now prepare the boat for in shore mode, and will take to water for some training over the next few days.
GETTING READY TO GO BACK TO THE WATER4th May, 2009
The shore team have been working on the boat ahead of the In Port race this coming weekend in Boston. The boats will be craned back into the water over the next two days, as the crews return to the water to get some crucial training in ahead of the in shore race.
CHECKING THE MAST1st May, 2009
Shore team boss Johnny Smullen has commented, “the mast came out and that looks fine. We will have a full rig service here, Southern Spars will do that for us over the next couple of days. Everything will be x-rayed and checked. We always planned to do one here. We did a big one in China before the long leg and this will do us until the end of the race.” The team are now a week away from the next In Port race in Boston.
