LETS DO IT OCEAN ADVENTURE HOSTS SINGAPORE STUDENTS FOR “CROSS WATERS AND CROSS CULTURES” PROGRAMME IN IRELAND AND SINGAPORE
Four students from Temasek Polytechnic in Singapore travelled to Ireland for the Volvo Ocean Race as part of the ‘Crossing Waters, Crossing Culture’ initiative by Ocean Youth Trust Ireland together with Let’s Do it Global, Singapore’s Irish Business Association, by the Embassy of Ireland in Singapore. The four students studying film and media attended the Inmarsat Student Film Lecture in Galway hosted by John Warehand from Inmarsat (pictured right) and were lucky enough to meet Green Dragon skipper Ian Walker
During their visit to Galway the students will capture their experiences and impressions of Ireland through the media of photography and video which they will present to their school and to the extended global community on their return to Singapore.
Bronagh Cappa Executive Director of Ocean Youth Trust Ireland said “We are delighted to give these 4 media students an opportunity to learn more about Irish culture and life in Galway. We are enthusiastic about the opportunities which the Let’s do it Global campaign can achieve and we will use sail training as a shared global concept with young people from each of the stopover ports and harness the incredible energy which the Green Dragon campaign has created.”
