It’s a great welcome, I have never seen so many people in the middle of the night, and its cold out there too, it’s not like the tropics! A lot of people on the water which is always surprising and nice to see so many people here is just great.
How did that leg compare to other transatlantics you’ve done in the past?
I love transatlantic’s, I’ve done four on the Volvo now, I’ve been second I all of them and third in this one. And for some reason the sailing on the transatlantic is always good, I love it. I’ve never really countd it up but I’ve done several record attempts and seven or eight other ones. So probably tenty or so transatlentics, it is a great playground. Good conditions, just long enough that you can stretch your legs but too long so you can’t push hard. WE had some good sailing, some really good sailing.
How was the leg overall?
Good, really good. We had our fair share of problems, but we had our fair share of opportunities which we made the best of. But most importantly we had a laugh, we had some really good sailing. Just terrific
